Sorry about the LONG delay in updating my blog but I have just been really busy lately and to get to the internet I have to walk about 1/2 Mile or so unless I am at work. However, when I have been at work I have been busy sooooo I haven't been updating.

No pictures to add because I have been very lame about taking them... I will try harder.

Overall life here is ok... but the damn Internet sucks and so does the Chow Hall. *shrug* What can I do neither are in my control. Well its 9pm now so I am going to head back to the room and chill out then sleep...

Its hot... so hot in fact that the AC in our office wasn't 100% but still putting out cold air that in 10mins in a sealed room with ac it was still hot enough for me to sweat. I walked outside to find that in the shade it was cooler than the room I was in. Sooooo its freakin HOTT as hell.

Well another day another dollar! This is the best job I have ever had.... I wake up and work from 730-745am to 3-5pm then we arre done for the day. However, since I have been here I have had to go back to work about 7pm until 11pm for some welding. Either way I am getting good money and all my food and lodging is paid for so its not that bad.

There is 3 things about this place (Ar Ramadi, Iraq) that are very predictible....
1) Its going to be hot when you wake up
2) Its blue sky!
3) Its sandy and you get sand in places you never knew you had!

I know that I have only been here 2 weeks or so but once you get over the fact its hot... this place isn't that bad. Yea you hear gunfire nightly or IEDs going off during the day but it doesn't seem threatening...

Oh also if anyone out there is bored and wants to chat with someone over here email me :-) I have a lot of down time at night which right now I use to play my PS2. I would love to hear what people are doing back home cuz for me to get to myspace I have to go use another computer which isn't very fun plus I can only be on that computer for 20mins then I get kicked off.

Well here is where I live. The closest conex or ISO or whatever you call it. I have an AC, TV, fridge, bed, wall locker and by myself! The only thing it is lacking is the internet connection which it doesnt look like I will have while I am here but atleast I will be able to access it from my office which is only 200feet away! Yes there is a downside right now over here... EVERYTHING is very far away! To get to a flush toilet or a shower I have to walk about 300 steps which I am guessing its around 700-800 feet through the dirt. That sucks but maybe eventually we will get a vehicle and I can drive it vs walking.

Well I have some pretty cool pictures to show you but I didn't put them on my USB drive. So you will have to wait till later. Also I got to have my first Vehicle IED attack (off base but close) which had an enormous shock wave and had 1 DOA and 6 injured (non american). Well I am tired of this crappy keyboard so I will hopefully post some pics tomorrow!

Well I got into Ramdi where I will be for a year and I won't have an EASY internet access but it looks like in a month or so it should be pretty easy. I won't have internet in my room but I will at my office so it looks like thats where I will be. Pictures might be a little hard to upload be I will figure it out... anyway I have to go enjoy the desert!

I know your all waiting for the scenery shot so here it is. Its the most awesome scenery I have ever seen! Dirt and fencing and more dirt and flat and more dirt. The picture really speaks for itself. In the shade around 3pm the temp was 113 so its kinda warm out too. Well not sure when I will be able to do my next update since I am moving to another base but I will as soon as I can. Enjoy!

Ah yes you think we just live in the conexs without protection?? NOOOoooooo we have big things of sand nicely stacked as our protection from gunfire and stuff. However all around us is base the nearest place anything could come from is a few miles so really all we have to worry about here is mortars.

Well it has been a few days trying to get a flight out of the Kuwait area and ended up staying in a damn terminal area for about 20+ hrs with no sleep. Anyway Here is a picture of our tent city and in a bit some more will follow.

Well after flying into Kuwait and getting on a bus to whatever base I am on now. I am pleased to announce its HOTT here. I know you think hot is 85-90 but no its 105-110 here and its so hot that if you stay outside you feel like your cooking. Anyway this seems pretty nice we have a MWR tent here with Ping-pong, pool, darts, movies, and random board games. Good food at the mess hall and even a McDonalds, PizzaHut, KFC, and a Subway.
As you can see in the picture we live like crap here. Just random racks of crap no place to store your gear or anything. It gets cold as hell in these tents at night to the point I had to use my towel as a blanket over the sheets and I was still cold. Oh well I guess its better than being outside where it is hot.
last night was the weirdest thing ever after eating at the mess hall I went and played pool until 1130pm and when I came out it was a bit chilly. I am guessing it was about 70 out and the temps dropped even lower as the night went on.
Well I am also sorry I haven't got a lot of pictures just this one. I am going to make a concentrated effort to add as many pictures as I possibly can.

Today I got to spend some money! Not that I NEED to spend more money but it was worth it. I bought myself a new camera.... nothing special just a Cannon PowerShot A570 IS. Which I will be using to post pictures on this blog! Go me! I guess thats it for now tomorrow I might post something but either way I WILL be taking pictures!

Well I want to start blogging since I will be overseas for a year. I am picking up a new digital camera so I can post some pictures of my travel to Iraq and once I get there! Hopefully I can come up with stuff to post while away. If not this will become VERY boring.

Also as you can tell I suck at writing soooooo lets hope I can take better pictures!
